Explanation

I have a save file that I've been playing on for dozens of hours. If I play on it for, say, an hour, then "save and quit" takes at least 40 seconds to complete. Often 1 minute, sometimes 2. The CPU and disk usage goes up and down during all this. I don't know what it's doing.

For the record, just clicking Save completed in a second or two, no problem.

Saving, and then clicking "back to menu" can also take a long time, though not as long as "save and quit." These issues could be related.
