Steps to Reproduce

  1. Play deep scan mission.
  2. Have a scanner's initial landing spot be directly above a resonance crystal.
  3. Mine terrain directly below the scanner.
  4. Scanner drops down and lands on top of resonance crystal.
  5. Observe that both the scanner and the connector to the resonance crystal occupy the same space.
  6. Attempt to place connection cables from scanner to resonance crystal.
  7. Observe that all cable locations are flagged as invalid, making it unable to be placed anywhere, soft locking the mission.

Explanation

Odds of this reoccurring naturally seem pretty low. Happened during a deep scan mission, when attempting to connect the scanners to the resonance crystals. If a scanners landing position is directly above the resonance crystal, players can destroy terrain beneath the scanner to have the scanner drop ontop of the resonance crystal. Now the scanner and the connector to the resonance crystal (the actor that normally needs to be interacted with after the cables are connected) occupy the same space. This was done before connecting the cables to the crystal. Now when players attempt to drag out the first connection cable from the scanner, all locations will be invalid, cables will display as red and wont be able to be placed anywhere. This results in soft locking the mission and forcing an abort.
