| Due date: | |
| Reported for: | |
| Actual Result: |
Input delay progressively worsens mid-session. Options button acts as a temporary workaround by resetting the frame pacing state
|
| Expected Result: |
Consistent, responsive input throughout the entire session.
|
| Severity: |
Major
|
| Reproducibility: |
Always
|
| Platform: |
Playstation 5
|
| Additional Notes & Comments: |
Other PS5 players have reported the same issue. Suspected cause is frame pacing degradation, possibly related to the game being capped at 60fps on PS5 with no 120fps mode available. Troubleshooting Already Performed: • Tested both Bluetooth and wired USB controller connection — issue persists on both • PS5 database rebuilt multiple times — no effect • Display settings ruled out (no VRR/ALLM on monitor)
|
Steps to Reproduce
- Launch Dead by Daylight on PS5
- Enter a match
- play for a couple seconds
- Notice Input Delay beginning to build up
- Press Options button — delay resets temporarily
- Continue playing — delay returns
Explanation
After a couple of seconds in-game, input delay begins and gradually worsens over the course of a session. Pressing the Options button (which briefly interrupts gameplay) temporarily resets the delay back to normal, but it returns again after a short while.
This strongly suggests the game enters a degraded frame pacing state mid-session that gets cleared when gameplay is paused/interrupted via the Options button.
