Bug: Server Overrides Client Power Grabs Due to Desync in Tight Corners
Bug #5937
Server Overrides Client Power Grabs Due to Desync in Tight Corners

| Actual Result: |
When attempting to grab a Survivor who is running around a corner or wall edge, the grab visually registers on the Killer's client, but the new server-side hit validation rejects the hit. As a result, Virulent Bound is instantly interrupted and deactivated without completing the grab or allowing further action.
|
| Expected Result: |
Virulent Bound hit checking should reliably respect valid client-side hits. If a Survivor is**** as they round a corner, the grab should successfully connect rather than having the server override the collision and abruptly cancel the Killer's power state.

Steps to Reproduce
- Enter a chase with a Survivor near a tight corner or wall edge.
- Initiate Virulent Bound just as the Survivor is turning the corner.
- Successfully land the grab on your screen (visual contact is made on the client).
- Observe that instead of registering the grab, server-side validation rejects the hit and immediately terminates the ability.
- Or observe how much hits are delayed even on low ping
Explanation
This issue appears to stem from the recent change in the 10.1.0 PTB that shifts power hit checking from the client to the server. Due to slight desync or latency, when a Survivor breaks line of sight around a corner by even a fraction of a second, the server overrides the valid hit seen on the client and forcefully deactivates the power.
This problem becomes exponentially worse at moderate or higher ping and EVEN at low ping which is further weird, making corner grabs feel extremely punishing and unreliable. This change needs tweaks to its tolerance or a revert to ensure smooth gameplay. (Please refer to the attached video footage demonstrating the grab cancellation around corners).
