Steps to Reproduce

1. Start up game
2. Game begins to load
3. Freezes on some part of the loading
4. Crashes to desktop

Explanation

The game will sometimes crash to desktop while loading after startup. In my experience this occurs amidst the string of "initializing shaders" freezes that are typical to the game atm. The crash to desktop is something far more recent however. Game will freeze on a specific loading portion and then instead of being stuck endlessly will just crash to desktop leaving you not only unable to play the game for an extended period of time before it decides to stop doing that every time you boot up the game.
