Due date:
Reported for:
Actual Result:
You need to be in a very specific location next to interactable object for it to take priority over using your item.
Expected Result:
Being right next to interactable object is enough to prioritize the interaction.
Severity:
Major
Reproducibility:
Always
Platform:
Steam
Additional Notes & Comments:
Not set

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Playing survivor get next to an interactable object in the environment.
  2. Have an item in your hand that is usable by pressing same key as the object interaction.
  3. Move around the object observing when keybind description changes from item to object.
  4. Notice you need to be in a very specific location to interact with the object.

Explanation

Survivors interacting with held items is prioritized too much over interacting with objects in the environment that share same keybind.

For example, to lock Dredge's locker with a usable item in your hand you literally need to put your nose into the locker. Even when directly facing the locker while leaving a small gap you are more likely to channel a key or waste a fog vial charge than lock it.

Another example of this is trying to unlock a chest with a key, too easy to start channelling the key instead of using it to unlock the chest.
