Weaving Spiders perk not reducing generator charges

Status: Open
Priority:
High

Assigned to:

Due date:
Reported for:
Actual Result:
No reduced charges after activating Invocation: Weaving Spiders.
Expected Result:
Reduce required charges to complete a generator.
Severity:
Minor
Reproducibility:
Rarely
Platform:
Steam
Additional Notes & Comments:
The killer was The Doctor, and I didn't check to see his perks, not that it would make any sense, I just don't know if his perks would've caused the issue due to weird spaghetti code compatibility.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Play survivor on modifier Chaos Shuffle
  2. Get Weaving Spiders as a perk
  3. Activate Weaving Spiders
  4. Start working on a generator

Explanation

Weaving Spiders did not apply to any gens. During Chaos Shuffle, I got both invocation perks, I applied WS, then TC, I didn't realize until the second or third gen that none of the generators had their max bar reduced. I have a screenshot to prove that the perk was activated, I was broken, and the gen had no charges reduced at all.

It does not reduce charges if gens are blocked by the entity when you finish the invocation. So if you finish the invocation and killer has for example carrying someone with Thrilling Tremors perk causing the gens be blocked because of it they don't gain the benefit. This usually can easily happen to one or two gens but you have to be quite unlucky to get no benefit at all but hey you are not alone I did the same mistake in a match still managed to escape somehow.

When the entity blocks gen nothing can effect them they don't even regress.

I wasn't sure if he had any gen blocking that game, but that's good to know. Another player also mentioned it in the end game chat so I feel like it was all gens.

Is that an intentional interaction?

Yes its intentional devs have stated that gens that are blocked don't get effected by anything including invocations in the forums and the old bug reports of people reporting this.
