The perk's other effects (seeing the killer's aura and receiving a 6% speed bonus to repairing & whatnot) still apply when it activates. However, if you're playing against an undetectable killer and you're not repairing a generator, you'd have no idea the perk was active since it doesn't light up.

Steps to Reproduce
- Equip the perk Object of Obsession
- Wait until your aura is revealed by a killer's perk
- Observe as the perk Object of Obsession does not light up
Explanation
Object of Obsession doesn't light up when the killer sees your aura to show that it's active
