Soft Lock During Level Upgrade on Depth 1 Solo Mission

Steps to Reproduce

Choose a depth 1 mission with 4 stages and lvl 2 cave complexity on Friends only but play solo
Get to stage 2 and select an artifact as the stage modifier
Save all upgrades and do it once i had around 2-3 upgrades available
Start level upgrade and after select an artifact
When onto the normal upgrades, I selected one but realized there was no upgrade for cooper and was stuck

Explanation

I was playing in a depth 1 solo (friends only) and in a Level upgrade i was soft locked since there was no upgrade for Cooper. I couldn't get into the menu by pressing escape so I had to ALT + F4. (I was also playing on the Experimental Branch of the game.)
