Steps to Reproduce
- Purchased the game from steam
- Launch the game through steamvr while in the headset
- Observe that the game never enters VR
- Look at the desktop to see the main menu of the game
- Notice that head tracking is not working
Explanation
The game will not enter vr when launching. I can only see it on the desktop of the pc. Game was purchased through steam

Same problem. SteamVR 2.13.7 Forefront worked fine until today, when I installed VAIL. Neither will enter VR mode.

Be sure to check the following:
- Make sure you're not using the SteamVR Beta, this can cause issues.
- If using the Oculus OpenXR Runtime, try switching to SteamVR's, there is currently an issue with Oculus' that Meta is in the process of fixing.
- Also be sure to check your SteamVR XR API Layer settings and disable any layers that are displayed as active there

Same issue occur to me yesterday. No other software or updates are being installed, except the Steam client update they pushed on the 17th. Already tried:
- Not using SteamVR Beta (2.13.7 Im on)
- Use Steam Runtime (tried Virtual Desktop both SteamVR and VDXR)
- Disabled all SteamVR XR API Layer
- Reboot game
- Reboot PC
- Switch to Quest link cabled connection (SteamVR)
- Reinstall (Clean uninstallation) the game
None of them solves the issue. The game was running fine on Monday and suddenly had this problem on Wednesday night. Logs attached, new screenshots also attached showing two sections of the log that could contribute to the issue
Just upgraded to v0.16.38 and tested, same issue
Tested game version v0.16.38 with SteamVR v2.12.14, v2.13.7 and beta v2.14.2. Both game files verified but still the same issue, pretty sure something is wrong between Forefront and SteamVR, as every time the game finishes initial startup, the game icon will disappear from the SteamVR toolbar, but the game is still running on the monitor in Desktop mode.
Also the game can be started without waking up SteamVR. Usually, if we start a VR-only game from desktop, it will start up both the game and SteamVR. However when starting Forefront from Desktop, SteamVR is not started up together with the game.
Wolbing, would it be possible to also provide us with your player.log from Forefront. This can be found at ..\AppData\LocalLow\Triangle Factory\Forefront\Player.log

Can you also record your what happens when you start the game?
recording uploaded. This behavior is the same whether or not any OpenXR API is enabled, and whether using Quest native cable streaming or wireless VD. This issue only begain to happen to me since 19th Nov, before it was running fine
I have been having the same problems. Just checked Pavlov and it also is doing this, but other games play fine. steamvr 2.13.7
Ok I fixed it by Downloading Vulkan SDK
Vulkan? I assume it's AMD Vulkan, my pc is using NVIDIA GPU and I dont recall installing Vulkan SDK before. Tho from my previous screenshot on the logs, it did mention "failed to find vulkan library" error.
Triangle Factory Could you please confirm if it's related, and whether it's mandatory to have Vulkan SDK installed for Forefront? Or are there any settings in the config sheet somewhere that pointed the game to use Vulkan and caused the issue?
As far as we know it should not be mandatory.
