Steps to Reproduce
- Join a high traffic server. You are looking for a "red stopwatch" icon at the top of your HUD.
- Board any ground vehicle (ATV, jeep, etc.)
- Leave the vehicle.
- At some point, leaving the vehicle will teleport you to a random position.
Explanation
Ground vehicles like the jeep and ATV have a chance to move you a seemingly random point in the sky rather than directly outside of the vehicle. The bug affects the driver's seat as well as the passengers' seats. I have experienced this bug on Iceland and Paradise while using the ATV and jeep.
On the rare occasion that I am able to make it to the ground post-teleport, I have discovered that my controls have rotated 90 degrees - Up moves right, right moves backwards, and so on.
This bug seems extremely prevalent while playing on high population servers where you receive a "red stopwatch" icon at the top of your screen.

Hi,
I was able to get a recording!
Notes: I had just spawned. This was a vehicle that had not been used by another player yet. I could not replicate this glitch on an empty server, only a server with a lot of players already on it.
Hello again - Back with more research.
It has absolutely nothing to do with speed or if I'm holding a weapon. I think it's network related. Couldn't trigger the glitch on an empty server in South America - I had the "three bars" icon up top the whole time. I pop into a full US West server playing Mauritania, get on an ATV, jump off of it - I teleport. Before I got on the ATV, I had a red stopwatch icon up top.
I'm connected to Ethernet, with a varying 38-44 ping on average to US West servers.
I have narrowed the bug down to "It only happens if you have the red stopwatch icon pop up."
Another interesting fact about the bug is that if you do land on the ground, your controls are messed up. Either the camera or the player entity gets rotated 90 degrees on the Z axis after dismounting from the vehicle. You move forward but your character goes right, pressing right makes them walk backwards, etc.
It's much rarer for me to get a teleport where I'm on the ground long enough to demonstrate that, but I'll try to grab a video when I can if it's needed.
