Controller Users Experience 180-Degree Camera Snap During Slaughtering Strike

Status: Needs More Info
Priority:
High
Added by: Anonymous on May 6, '26
Assigned to:

Due date:
Reported for:
Actual Result:
When using Slaughtering Strike in Evil Incarnate mode on controller, the camera randomly snaps 180 degrees in the opposite direction. This happens at the start or during the lunge, in all areas of the map — including open spaces with no survivors, walls, or obstacles nearby. It occurs both when moving the camera and when keeping it still, making the ability completely unreliable and impossible to aim properly.
Expected Result:
The camera should move smoothly and consistently, responding directly to controller input exactly the same way as normal gameplay or other killer powers. There should be no involuntary rotation or snapping, and the player should retain full control over direction throughout the entire Slaughtering Strike.
Severity:
Major
Reproducibility:
Frequently
Platform:
Playstation 5
Additional Notes & Comments:
This appears to be an input registration error specifically tied to the high movement speed (7.5 m/s) of Slaughtering Strike. Even at neutral stick positions or during minor adjustments, the game engine interprets the input as a 180-degree flip. I use 100% Killer controller sensitivity.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Loadout: Select The Shape (Michael Myers)
  2. Environment: Enter a Trial or a Custom Game using a Controller (Console or PC with controller).
  3. Charge Power: Stalk survivors until Evil Incarnate is active
  4. The Trigger Action: While moving forward with the Left Stick, slightly tilt the Right Stick to the left or right to simulate tracking a survivor. While the camera is in motion, press and hold the Special Attack button (L2/LT) to initiate the Slaughtering Strike.
  5. The Snap: Observe that at the exact moment the dash acceleration kicks in, the camera violently "whips" 180 degrees in the opposite direction of the stick input.

Explanation

Despite recent patch notes, The Shape’s Slaughtering Strike remains broken for controller users. When initiating the strike, the camera frequently performs an involuntary 180-degree snap, causing the Killer to face away from the target and miss the attack entirely.
