Steps to Reproduce
- Launch Dead by Daylight through Steam
- Denuvo Anti-Cheat attempts to start
- The game displays 'Something went wrong... There was an issue with starting Denuvo Anti-Cheat.'
- Close the error/game
- Easy Anti-Cheat displays 'Untrusted System File' referencing denuvo-anti-cheat-update-service-launcher.dll
- The game cannot be launched
Explanation
Dead by Daylight cannot launch after the Denuvo Anti-Cheat trial was introduced on Steam. When I launch the game, Denuvo Anti-Cheat displays "Something went wrong... There was an issue with starting Denuvo Anti-Cheat." After closing the game, Easy Anti-Cheat also displays "Untrusted System File" and points to: C:\Program Files\Denuvo Anti-Cheat\denuvo-anti-cheat-update-service-launcher.dll.
I have already verified the game files, restarted my PC, uninstalled and reinstalled Denuvo Anti-Cheat, and ran Windows System File Checker (sfc /scannow), which reported no integrity violations. The issue still occurs consistently.
