Reported for:
Actual Result:
Houndmaster being slowed by server side error.
Expected Result:
Houndmaster should return to normal movement speed while not using either command.
Severity:
Major
Reproducibility:
Frequently
Platform:
Steam
Additional Notes & Comments:
This bug has been in the game since Houndmaster was released and is severe enough that it loses matches on the spot. Additionally, in the provided video file, I have recorded an entire match where the bug was present. It demonstrates both normal movement speed and correct results from the dog attack and the glitched movement speed. The bug begins a timestamp 1:54.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Play as Houndmaster
  2. Use the "Chase" command as much as possible in normal gameplay
  3. Randomly, the bug will occur.
  4. You will notice "stuttering" from the server correcting Houndmaster's move speed.

Explanation

Houndmaster has a server-side bug. When using the chase command, the server occasionally loses track of Houndmaster's base speed. When Houndmaster leaves the charging animation (usually by causing the dog to dash forward), the server begins "correcting" Houndmaster's speed by pulling her backward until she is the correct speed. The client recognizes that Houndmaster should be moving at 115% speed. The server does not realize this and treats Houndmaster's base movement speed as her command charging speed (when she is holding search or chase). The bug cannot be fixed mid-match and causes the Houndmaster character to lose games entirely. The charging speed is slower than survivor's sprinting speed.
